About
The Alliance Community of Practice (CoP) offers an opportunity to share, learn about and discuss child and youth mental health. These collective learning opportunities are open to all Alliance members, including other team members within organisations, and other key stakeholders with an interest in child and youth mental health. The network aims to:
- Build connections and awareness between members, including across sub-sectors and between government and non-government services
- Receive presentations about research related to child and youth mental health
- Participate in consultation and decision-making processes
- Review, monitor, update and discuss issues related to child and youth mental health, such as emerging trends, patterns and gaps across services
- Other activities as identified by the membership and/or the Coordinating Committee
Members are invited to nominate topics or services they would like to learn more about, or to self-nominate to present.
'Joint Case Review' Program
The 'Joint Case Review' (JCR) Program offers reflective practice sessions for practitioners working with children, young people and families, focused on hypothetical scenarios. They provide a supportive, collaborative space for professionals to critically reflect on real-world cases, identify patterns in practice, and develop shared approaches to supporting vulnerable children, young people and families. These sessions are led by trained facilitators who work in the sector, with four sessions held per year.
Since 2017, JCR sessions have been offered to services funded through the ACT Child, Youth and Family Services Program. As part of the Alliance's goals to reduce siloes across the system, we are partnering with Families ACT to trial opening these sessions to other Alliance members who work in services providing child and youth mental health support. This has resulted in the Alliance sponsoring limited spaces for Alliance members to participate in the JCR sessions.
